No Kill Shelters

SPECIAL BULLETIN

If you are in Des Moines, Iowa or surrounding areas, and face evacuation with no place to house your pets, contact the Animal Rescue League for help. The Animal Rescue League of Des Moines, Iowa has a list of resources to help you help your pets during this difficult time.

Emergency shelters are not allowing people to bring in pets, so if you don't have a place for your cat or dog in an evacuation situation, the Animal Rescue League is a great place to turn for help!

There are still some hotels in some areas that have not filled up, but not all of them take cats and dogs. It may be worth a shot to plead special circumstance with the manager of the hotel to allow pets this one time. But if you find yourself without a place for your pet, please:

• DO NOT Leave them in the home
• DO NOT "set them free"
• DO NOT leave them in the car

These are all very dangerous and horrible scenarios. Please contact Animal Rescue League for help!
