Pasties
1 lb. cut in 1/2" cubes top round steak
1/2 cup dry sherry
2 cups peeled diced potatoes
1 1/4 cups chopped onions
2 tbls. fresh chopped parsley
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 beaten egg
- Combine steak, sherry and potatoes in a mixing bowl.
- Set aside to -marinate while preparing and chilling pastry.
- Drain steak and potatoes-discard liquid.
- Combine in bowl with onions, parsley, salt, pepper and thyme.
- Roll one pastry ball out on a lightly floured surface to a 7-inch circle.
- Place 3/4 cup of the filing in a strip across the center.
- Bring both sides of the dough up over filling, forming a seam.
- Pinch seam to seal.
- Repeat with remaining pastry and filling.
- Brush pasties with egg glaze and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake in 400 degree oven for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve hot or at room temperature.
- Makes 6 pasties.
