Holiday Ginger Cookies Recipe

Grandmother's Holiday Ginger Cookies


2/3 C butter
1-1/2 C granulated sugar (may use 1 C white sugar and 1/2 C brown sugar)
4 T molasses
1 egg
2 t soda
1 t ginger
1 t salt
2-1/4 C sufted flour
1 t clove
1 t cinnamon

- Cream shortening and surgar.
- Add molasses and egg..
- Sift flour and spices together.
- Add soda and mix.
- Pinch off in small pieces (about 1/2 teaspoon full) and roll in balls, then roll in granulated sugar.
- Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 350 Degrees.
